Hi my name is Tony Mernagh from Foynes I work at the Brothers of Charity day service. I always wanted to work in a radio station. I was happy when I heard there was a local community radio station starting up in NCW. I was even more delighted when I found out that the day services would be running a course supported by west Limerick resources which involved recording a program for WLR102 I really enjoyed that, and as a result of that Marian Hartnett asked if somebody would like to do more recording for the station Sinead O Mahony from Feonanagh and I jumped at the chance and so began Sinead & Tony’s Request show. After a few weeks Pat Hayes from Shanagolden was drafted in to keep listeners up to date with the local news and add a bit of humour with the ‘joke of the week. It was decided that a new name would needed which reflected the way the show was going and so Hip Hop Happening was born, the show has a mix of songs request news and jokes, something for all tastes .If you would like to have a song or request played, if you have any local news you would share please feel free to contact us on 06962733 the shows airs at 1:00pm-1:30 every Wednesday afternoon and repeated at 8:30am-9:00am on Saturday & repeated 7:00am-7:30am on Monday would also like to say a big thank you to Mike Williams and Marion Hartnett for their help and support with the show.
